Where is Sound Grotto located?

Sound Grotto is conveniently located between Baltimore and DC, just off of Route 95 in Elkridge, MD (Howard County). This is a private residence, so the address will not be published. Please reach out for further information; visits are by appointment only.

What are your studio hours?

Sound Grotto is available to take calls and book sessions between 9 am and 8 pm, seven days a week. The studio operates 24/7 and is available by appointment only – no walk-ins.

How do I book a session or consultation?

To get started on your project, simply call Sound Grotto or send us an email. You can expect to reach or hear back from someone during the hours of 9 am – 8 pm. We will make every effort to respond to your message within the same day. There is no charge for an initial consultation to discuss the vision of your project.

What are the payment and deposit requirements?

We are very flexible and will schedule a time that works for you. To reserve studio time for your session, we require a 50% deposit beforehand with the balance due at the end of your session.

Can I tour the studio before booking?

You can visit Sound Grotto to see what the space offers, but please make an appointment to do so. We do not accept walk-ins. Call (410-440-9180) or email us to schedule a visit.

What are Sound Grotto’s recording rates?

$75/hour. Discount available for prepaid 10-hour blocks ($650). Your cost includes use of the room and the engineer fee. Sound Grotto offers specials from time to time. What forms of payment do you accept?

Sound Grotto accepts Zelle, Venmo, PayPal (a 3-4% fee applies for PayPal), and/or cash. No checks or credit cards accepted. We also offer gift certificates for all your gift-giving needs.

What is your cancellation policy?

We ask that you notify us within 48 hours to cancel. If canceling with less than 48 hours’ notice, your deposit will be refunded less $100.

What happens if I arrive late to my session?

Appointment times have been specifically arranged for you. If you arrive late, your session may be shortened to accommodate others whose session follows yours. Regardless of the length of your session, you will be responsible for paying for the entire time you were scheduled to attend. Out of respect, please plan accordingly and arrive on time.
